All couples wishing to be married in one of our Catholic Churches must meet with a parish priest no less than six (6) months in advance of any desired wedding dates.
Whether bride and groom are both Catholic, or only bride or only groom is Catholic, both parties must establish, while interviewed by the parish priest, that they are eligible for the Catholic Sacrament of Matrimony according to the Laws of the Church.
Couples must also fulfill the spiritual marriage preparation requirements of the Diocese of Burlington.
Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit along with the parish pastor, our ministry’s married couples will walk side by side with engaged and married couples through their spiritual journey. Because marriage can be challenging, we offer a mentor-friendship program that may support them whether they may have questions about marriage prep, spiritual direction, family life, and or other issues. Our hope is to encourage couples to focus on their relationship, to become involved with church functions and gain fellowship with other couples. The primary goal of this ministry is to provide enriching activities for couples in an effort to encourage and strengthen our relationship with one another and in turn our relationship with Jesus.

The emphasis of the Marriage Encounter weekend is on communication between husband and wife, who spend a weekend together away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life, to concentrate on each other.
